NDLEA Tackles Illicit Drug Dealers

Here are the news summary about about recent hard drug trackffickng within Nigeria: 

1. Drug kingpin Obiorah Chigozie Samuel, wanted for shipping illicit drugs to the UK, is arrested by NDLEA.

2. Samuel had been on the wanted list since September 15, 2023, following the interception of a 1,500kg skunk consignment bound for London.

3. Samuel is apprehended when he attempts to bring another 2,000kg of concealed drugs to the airport.

4. A container truck coming from Lagos to Kano is intercepted in the FCT, with 1,188kg of skunk hidden under cartons of toothpaste.

5. NDLEA officers in Bayelsa seize 432kg of skunk from an abandoned bus.

6. In Kano, a 70-year-old, Ado Mai Unguwa, is arrested with 143.2kg of skunk.

7. In Enugu, 110.6kg of skunk is recovered from a locked-up shop at Aria new market.

8. NDLEA officers in Lagos raid the Idi-Oro drug enclave in Mushin, seizing 212.5kg of cannabis sativa.

9. In Kwara State, 104kg of skunk is recovered from a Toyota Camry car in Offa.

10. A Chadian, Mohammed Ibrahim, is caught at Mafa checkpoint, Borno State, with 11.8kg of the same substance.

11. In Plateau, four suspects are transferred to NDLEA custody, along with 1,978kg of cannabis.

12. In Cross River, 40,000 ampules of pentazocine injection are seized from two suspects.

13. In Kogi State, Ifeanyi Odoh, 25, is arrested with 59,867 pills of opioids and 4.03kg of cannabis sativa.

14. WADA advocacy activities continue nationwide, including visits and sensitization lectures in Lagos, Niger, Abia, and Akwa Ibom.

15. NDLEA Chairman/CEO, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa, commends officers across various commands for their efforts in drug supply reduction and demand reduction.
