In Yobe State: Troops Neutralize Six Boko Haram Insurgents

In a series of strategic operations aimed at eradicating terrorism, the Headquarters of Sector 2 Joint Task Force (North East) Operation Hadin has reported the successful neutralization of six Boko Haram terrorists in separate encounters in Yobe State.

Operation in Jororo Village, Geidam LGA

Troops from the 159th Battalion, acting on actionable intelligence, executed a well-planned ambush against marauding insurgents on October 25, 2023. These insurgents had been harassing civilians and collecting levies from locals. The fierce firefight that ensued resulted in the neutralization of two terrorists. The troops also recovered valuable items, including two AK-47 rifles, two motorcycles, and a mobile phone. Despite the engagement, some insurgents managed to escape with gunshot injuries. This operation took place in Jororo village, Geidam Local Government Area (LGA) of Yobe State.

Encounter in Bajingo and Kurnawa Villages, Tarmuwa LG

In a separate operation on October 26, 2023, troops of the 233 Battalion, deployed at Babbangida, neutralized four Boko Haram insurgents based on intelligence reports about their presence in Bajingo and Kurnawa villages, Tarmuwa LGA of Yobe State. The gallant troops, after a fierce firefight, not only neutralized the insurgents but also recovered arms and two motorcycles, along with other sundry items.

The operations have significantly contributed to the ongoing efforts to rid the North East of terrorism, insurgency, and related crimes. The success of these engagements demonstrates the commitment and effectiveness of the Joint Task Force in ensuring the safety and security of the region.

Jubilation in Geidam Town

Following the successful operation in Jororo village, there was jubilation in Geidam town as residents expressed relief and gratitude for the troops' actions. The neutralization of suspected Boko Haram members by the 159th Battalion was met with a sense of security and hope for the local population.
