A 19 years old undergraduate student has been scheduled to appear in Woburn District Court on 15th March 2023 in Massachusetts for stealing over $ 500k from her employer.
Ariel Foster , a track and field star sprinter and a freshman student of Lasell University was recently arrested by the police for scamming her employer, a jewelry store name Lovisa in Burlington Mall, Massachusetts. She stole the money during her working hours by inflating prices of some items on display and transfers the excess to her credit card whenever customers purchase them. Within eight fraudulent transactions she defrauded the store a sum of $ 547,187.
"It was a situation of fraudulent returns where she would
have an item she would mark up over price, and return the difference to a
credit card in her name and then deposit to herself the money to different bank
accounts,” said Thomas Browne, the Burlington
police Chief .
Within February 2nd to February 22nd 2023, her credit card transactions showed she bought a Tesla at the price of $ 35,000, about $ 5,000 on Louis Vuitton items, a flight trip for $6,000 by Delta Airlines and over $20,000 on hotel in Maui, Hawaii as stated by WCVB
